Putin Urges Iran-Israel Flexibility, Denies Nuclear Weapons Evidence

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on Iran and Israel to demonstrate diplomatic flexibility amid escalating tensions between the two countries, emphasizing that there is no concrete evidence that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons.

In an exclusive interview with British media, President Putin stated:

“We have repeatedly conveyed to Israel that there is no credible evidence Iran is building a nuclear bomb. Iran has the right to develop peaceful nuclear energy, and Russia is ready to provide cooperation in that regard.”

Call for Diplomacy and Common Security

Putin stressed that the current crisis can be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding, adding that "ways and means" exist to address legitimate security concerns on both sides without resorting to war.

“Iran and Israel must show flexibility. This conflict can only be resolved through negotiations and a focus on regional and common security,” he said.

The Russian president's remarks come at a time when tensions in the Middle East have reached a boiling point, with dozens of Iranian and Israeli casualties reported amid ongoing airstrikes and missile exchanges.

Russia’s Role in the Region

Russia has traditionally maintained close ties with both Iran and Israel, and Putin has often positioned Moscow as a potential mediator in regional conflicts. His renewed call for diplomacy suggests Moscow is seeking to de-escalate a conflict that threatens to spiral into a broader regional war.

Putin’s comments also align with Moscow’s longstanding position on Iran’s nuclear program—that Tehran has abided by international agreements, and that non-proliferation should not be politicized.
