POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
A new political party, Quran and Sunnah Tehreek Pakistan, has been officially registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), marking another addition to the country’s political landscape.
According to details, the chairman of Quran and Sunnah Tehreek Pakistan is Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer. The Election Commission has also formally recognised the party’s intra-party elections, fulfilling a key legal requirement for registration under electoral laws.
The development comes amid a steady expansion in the number of registered political parties in Pakistan. It may be recalled that in September, the Election Commission had officially registered two other new political parties.
According to an ECP notification issued at the time, the Azad Awam Pakistan Party and the Tajdeed Nizam Party were also granted official registration.
The notification stated that Muhammad Ali would serve as the chairman of the Azad Awam Pakistan Party, while Khalid Zaman was named chairman of the Tajdeed Nizam Party.
The registration of new political parties reflects ongoing political activity and organisational efforts ahead of future electoral processes, as parties seek formal recognition to participate in elections and political discourse across the country.
