Former Pakistan cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq is set to return as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team. According to sources, Saqlain has accepted the coaching offer following a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. He is expected to serve as the head coach for the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
This will not be Saqlain Mushtaq’s first stint as Pakistan’s coach. He previously held the position, contributing to the team’s development with his vast experience in international cricket. However, he had declined a coaching offer prior to the Champions Trophy, reportedly due to differences with all-rounder Shadab Khan.
The decision to bring Saqlain back comes as part of PCB’s efforts to strengthen the coaching staff ahead of key international assignments. His expertise as a legendary spinner and former coach is expected to provide valuable insight and guidance to the national team.
Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand will be a crucial series as the team looks to prepare for major upcoming tournaments, including the T20 World Cup. Fans are hopeful that under Saqlain’s leadership, the team will show improved performance and strategic discipline.
