Sindh Government Moves to Finalize 2025-26 Provincial Budget, Focus on Public Interest Projects

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Shah convened a joint meeting of the finance and planning departments to finalize proposals for the upcoming provincial budget for fiscal year 2025-26. The meeting, held ahead of an official holiday, aimed to expedite the budget finalization process with most proposals expected to be settled before Eid.

Planning Minister Syed Nasir Shah highlighted that out of 4644 ongoing development schemes, 1812 are expected to be completed by June 30, urging timely release of funds. Departments have submitted new project proposals, many at the local level. The Chief Minister instructed departments to shortlist these for further review in upcoming meetings, with funding decisions to follow.

During FY 2023-24, Sindh launched 1937 new schemes valued at Rs 88.3 billion, many nearing completion. Revenue figures for the province are expected by early June, which will guide the final budget decisions.
