LEGAL

The Sindh government has transferred SSP Hyderabad Dr. Farrukh Ali Lanjhar, successfully resolving the ongoing dispute with the legal community. Following the transfer, lawyers called off their court boycott and celebrated at the Hyderabad District Bar, raising slogans and congratulating each other.
The dispute, which had led to a complete halt in legal proceedings, stemmed from a case registered against a lawyer, Ali Raza Advocate, by the Bhittai Nagar police on charges of forgery and fraud. Lawyers had staged a sit-in at the SSP office, demanding the removal of the SSP and the SHO of Bhittai Nagar police station.
Lawyers' Response & Future Protests
Speaking to the media, District Bar President Ashar Majeed emphasized that the protest was never personal but about the dignity and honor of lawyers.
While the immediate demands have been met, the legal community is now shifting its focus to broader political concerns. Thousands of lawyers are set to march to the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi to protest against:

🌊 The proposed canal on the Indus River
This peaceful protest march is expected to take place tomorrow morning.
Background of the SSP Case
🔹 Last month, Hyderabad police filed a case against Ali Raza Advocate for allegedly using fake number plates on his vehicle.
🔹 His car was confiscated, leading to outrage among lawyers.
🔹 The legal community demanded the dismissal of the SSP and SHO, along with the withdrawal of the case.
🔹 The protest escalated into a full-scale court boycott across Hyderabad.
With the transfer of SSP Farrukh Lanjhar, the legal fraternity sees this as a victory, though their larger concerns remain unresolved.
Conclusion
While the court boycott has ended, tensions remain high as lawyers prepare for their next protest against government policies. The Sindh government’s response to their new demands will determine whether further legal disruptions take place.
