POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has strongly criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, denying claims of any military operation in the province.
No Operation, No Talks of an Operation
During a press conference, Talal Chaudhry dismissed Gandapur’s claims, stating that there is no operation taking place nor any discussions about one. He accused the KP CM of spreading confusion regarding the recent national security meeting.
“If the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cannot stand against terrorists, then he should not become their friend,” Chaudhry remarked.
Weapons vs. Negotiations
He further emphasized that the state deals with armed groups using force while negotiations are only held with those who do not take up arms.
PTI’s Failure in KP?
Responding to criticism of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, Talal Chaudhry pointed out that PTI has ruled KP for 13 years, questioning who is truly responsible for security failures in the province.
“The KP government was given Rs. 800 billion, yet not even Rs. 8 billion was invested properly,” he claimed, highlighting alleged financial mismanagement.
Political Tensions Rising
This latest exchange of accusations between the federal and provincial governments further highlights the growing tensions between PML-N and PTI over national security policies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
