Three Youths Kidnapped in Qambar, Rs7 Million Ransom Demanded

Three young boys from Qambar, who had gone to visit the shrine of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, were kidnapped by unidentified robbers who are now demanding Rs7 million in ransom from their impoverished families.

The abducted youths have been identified as:

·       Shoaib Chandio (22)

·       Faraz Chandio (20)

·       Aijaz Ali Chandio (15)

All three belong to village Jam Khan Chandio and had left on June 18 on a motorcycle for a spiritual visit to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. Their families lost contact with them until late last night when the kidnappers called from Faraz Chandio’s phone, confirming the abduction and threatening to kill the boys if the ransom was not paid.

Speaking to reporters at the Qambar Press Club, the grieving families said they were completely helpless. Abdul Majeed Chandio, the father of Shoaib, broke down in front of the media and said, “I sell kulfi to feed my family. How can we pay Rs7 million? We’re poor people—we want our children back.”

The phone used to make the ransom call has since been switched off. The family has handed over the number to the police for mobile tracing, but so far, no significant breakthrough has been reported.

A local woman from the area confirmed that the three boys were kidnapped by armed robbers, and the entire village is in shock and fear. Residents are demanding immediate intervention by senior law enforcement officials.

This incident adds to growing concerns about lawlessness in rural Sindh, where citizens are increasingly vulnerable to abductions, extortion, and armed crime. Despite repeated calls for action, families often complain about the slow or inadequate response from authorities.

The families have urged the Sindh government, IG Police, and PPP leadership to take urgent notice of the kidnapping and ensure the safe and swift recovery of their children.
