Garhi Hasan/Bahu Khoso – A tragic incident in Garhi Hasan has left the community in shock after a young man, Ali Muhammad Sarki, was allegedly set on fire by family members. According to reports, Sarki had gone to pick up his wife when he was attacked by his father-in-law Bashir Ahmad Sarki, brother-in-law Abdul Samid Sarki, and other family members. They allegedly poured petrol on him and set him on fire, leading to fatal injuries.
Ali Muhammad Sarki was rushed to the hospital after the attack, where he received initial medical aid before being referred to Jacobabad for further treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
In his final statement, Ali Muhammad Sarki revealed that his wife, Samara, and sister-in-law, Rehana, along with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, had set him on fire after he tried to take his wife back to his house. This act of violence was allegedly triggered by anger over his attempt to bring his wife home.
The incident has led to the arrest of Bashir Ahmed Sarki, who has reportedly confessed to the crime. The other suspects are still on the run. Police officials, including SHO Abbas Ali Soomri, confirmed that the accused poured petrol on Ali Muhammad Sarki and set him alight with a match.
The victim's brother, Asif Ali Sarki, expressed his devastation in an interview with Time News, revealing that his brother had been the sole provider for the family. They had recently moved to Garhi Hasan due to financial struggles and were living in an old government building.
Asif demanded justice for his brother and the entire family, stating that Ali Muhammad Sarki had been “cheated” and “betrayed” by his own family.
A murder case has been filed against five accused, including Bashir Ahmed Sarki, Abdul Samid Sarki, and others involved in the horrific act.
