A tragic road accident occurred near Daulat Nagar suburb in Gujarat when a speeding school van collided with a rickshaw, resulting in the death of the rickshaw driver and a student traveling in the rickshaw. Five other children suffered serious injuries.
Police officials reported that the accident happened due to reckless driving and overtaking by the van driver, who fled the scene immediately after the crash. The injured children have been identified as Imran Shah, Safiullah, Hasnain, Rehman Samawi, Maira Fatima, and Shams. They were rushed to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital, where the condition of four children remains critical.
Authorities have launched a search operation for the school van driver, urging witnesses to come forward with any information.
The incident raises concerns over road safety and speeding, especially involving vehicles transporting children, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic laws in the region.
