US Denies Involvement in Lebanon Pager Explosions, Calls for Diplomatic Resolution Between Israel and Hezbollah

The United States has denied any involvement in the pager explosions that rocked Lebanon, killing 12 and injuring nearly 3,000 people, including Hezbollah members. During a press briefing in Washington, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the US is not behind the blasts and is also unclear about who orchestrated the attack.

Miller emphasized that the US is interested in investigating the incident and reiterated the importance of resolving tensions between Israel and Hezbollah through diplomatic channels. He expressed concern about the escalating conflict and urged both sides to seek a peaceful solution.

In a separate remark, Miller addressed Pakistan’s ballistic missile program, clarifying that while the US views Pakistan as a long-standing partner, it cannot support the country’s missile development. He stressed the US commitment to strengthening the global non-proliferation regime and taking actions against networks that aid in the proliferation of lethal weapons. Miller stated that the US has consistently voiced concerns about Pakistan’s missile program and will continue to use sanctions and other measures to protect national security.

These comments come at a time when tensions are high in the Middle East, with the Mossad operation targeting Hezbollah raising the risk of further escalation. The US has underscored the need for diplomatic solutions to avoid a wider regional conflict.
