A serious and violent incident occurred at the Model Thana Defense police station two days ago, when a group of 80 to 90 unidentified individuals stormed the station. The event was marked by loud gunshots, assaults on police personnel, and significant damage to government property, raising serious concerns over law and order in the area.
According to police reports, the incident began when three motorcycle riders were stopped at a snap check on Korangi Road. The riders were asked for their documents, but they were unable to provide them. As a result, the three men were taken into custody and shifted to the Defense police station for further questioning. They were later released after one of their associates, identified as Imran, provided their personal bail.
However, the situation took a violent turn when a group of 80 to 90 people arrived at the police station shortly after the release. The group entered the police station, causing a commotion and attacking police personnel. ASI Zahid Iqbal and other officers were assaulted, with Iqbal’s uniform being torn during the confrontation. The group also vandalized the police station, further escalating the chaos.
In response, police officers fired shots into the air to disperse the crowd and called for additional forces. The arriving reinforcements managed to break up the protest, and the attackers fled the scene, leaving behind one of their cars and 13 motorcycles.
A case has been filed at the Defense police station based on the complaint of ASI Zahid Iqbal. The charges include vandalism, rioting, damage to government property, threatening to kill, and assaulting police personnel.
The police have launched raids at various locations in an effort to apprehend the suspects involved in the incident. Authorities are investigating the incident further and are seeking to bring the responsible individuals to justice.
