We Will Continue to Support Lebanon’s Sovereignty, Ceasefire Is a Bold Step by President Trump: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, calling it a positive step toward peace in the region.

In a statement, he said that diplomatic efforts led by US President Donald Trump played a key role in making the ceasefire possible, describing it as encouraging progress toward stability.

The prime minister reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to fully support Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to backing all diplomatic and political initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran’s president praised Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in helping de-escalate tensions and support efforts to end the conflict.

It is worth noting that following the ceasefire in Iran, both Lebanon and Israel have also agreed to halt hostilities. US President Donald Trump stated that he held discussions with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which both sides agreed to a 10-day ceasefire.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that this development would pave the way for long-term and sustainable peace across the region.
