The World Bank has announced a $20 billion investment under its 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) to support the country’s inclusive and sustainable growth.

The announcement was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a delegation of nine World Bank executive directors in Islamabad.

"With the World Bank’s support, Pakistan will witness investments of $40 billion, including $20 billion for private sector development through the International Finance Corporation and another $20 billion for key sectors like health, education, and youth development," PM Shehbaz stated.

He emphasized that Pakistan has greatly benefited from the World Bank’s assistance, especially after the devastating 2022 floods. He also highlighted ongoing economic reforms that are showing positive results, including rising exports, increased remittances, and improved power supply.

The World Bank delegation expressed optimism about Pakistan's reform journey and reiterated their commitment to supporting further development initiatives.
