Aleema Khan: Imran Khan Urged Junaid Akbar to Resign from PAC and Start Movement

The sister of Imran Khan, has made significant claims regarding messages sent by the jailed PTI founder to Junaid Akbar, a prominent figure in the party. Speaking at the Peshawar High Court where she was seeking security bail, Aleema Khan revealed that Imran Khan had directed Junaid Akbar to start a movement and also to resign from his position in the Public Accounts Committee. She further stated that the chairmanship of the committee should be handed over to Omar Ayub.

Aleema Khan also spoke about the ongoing financial needs of Namal University, a project closely associated with Imran Khan. She mentioned that she regularly travels to different locations to gather funds for the university, emphasizing its critical financial situation.

In her comments, Aleema Khan refuted allegations that the messages from her brother, Imran Khan, were anything out of the ordinary, suggesting that it was common for political leaders to send messages. She questioned why a case was made against Imran Khan alone, highlighting that many individuals deliver such political messages. She also noted that the family of Imran Khan is being denied access to him in jail, adding that they plan to visit the Adiala Jail and Islamabad High Court in the future to demand his release.

Imran Khan’s Message to Junaid Akbar:

Aleema Khan further confirmed that Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated, had sent explicit instructions to Junaid Akbar. These messages reportedly included a directive for Akbar to step down from the Public Accounts Committee and initiate a political movement under PTI’s banner. The purpose of this movement, according to Aleema Khan, is to garner support for the PTI’s political objectives during the ongoing political crisis.

Family’s Continued Efforts:

Aleema Khan’s statements also reflected the continued efforts of Imran Khan's family to fight against his incarceration. The PTI’s leadership remains focused on securing his release and continuing the political activism that has marked the party’s trajectory. She also stated their intention to escalate their efforts by visiting key legal and political institutions to seek justice for Imran Khan.
