A brazen armed robbery has rocked the tranquil neighborhood of Bahria Town in Karachi, as armed assailants targeted the residence of Syed Shalal Haider, an import-export businessman, in a daring heist. The harrowing incident saw the family being held hostage while the perpetrators made off with over Rs. 2.5 million worth of cash, jewelry, and valuables.

According to reports, a group of armed men forcibly entered the businessman's home, threatening the occupants and ransacking the premises. The family members, including a six-month-old infant, were reportedly subjected to terrifying threats during the ordeal. The gunmen seized gold jewelry valued at one crore from the lower floor of the villa, while also making off with 50 lakh in cash and additional jewelry from the upper floor.

In a statement to authorities, Haider detailed the chilling moments of the robbery, recounting how the armed assailants brandished weapons and issued threats of violence against his family. The assailants also allegedly stole a licensed pistol, revolver, bullets, and cartridges from the residence before fleeing the scene.

An FIR has been lodged against eight suspects at the Golap police station, with law enforcement agencies launching a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Residents of Bahria Town have expressed shock and outrage over the brazen robbery, calling for swift action to apprehend the culprits and ensure justice for the affected family.
