Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir declared Pakistan's unwavering commitment to global peace and stability, emphasizing that the nation will not participate in any international conflicts. Speaking at the Margalla Dialogue 2024 in Islamabad, he outlined key challenges facing the world and Pakistan’s approach to addressing them.

Global Challenges

General Munir highlighted the rapid spread of misinformation, the rise of violent non-state actors, and growing inequality as major issues. “Intolerance and divisions based on religion, sect, and ethnicity are increasing globally,” he stated, pointing to terrorism as a shared global challenge requiring collective efforts.

“Our commitment to combating terrorism remains unwavering,” he said, stressing that terrorism is a threat to all humanity. He reiterated Pakistan's resolve under the National Action Plan to eradicate terrorism and extremism.

Pakistan’s Vision

The Army Chief underscored Pakistan's focus on peace and regional stability, noting the country’s firm stance on not allowing Afghan soil to be used for terrorism. He also criticized India's extremist policies, emphasizing the plight of minorities and the urgency of resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.

On global humanitarian crises, General Munir highlighted Pakistan’s support for ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon and its commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Pakistan’s Potential

General Munir expressed optimism about Pakistan’s future, citing its young population, natural resources, and strategic location. “Pakistan is rich in rare minerals and agricultural production, making it a crucial hub for trade between Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East,” he said.

Concluding Message

He affirmed Pakistan's continued efforts toward global stability and addressing challenges like climate change, terrorism, and misinformation. “While we will not be a part of global conflicts, we will always contribute to peace and stability,” the Army Chief concluded.
