Azam Nazir Tarar Dismisses Reports on Imran Khan’s Eyesight as Baseless

Azam Nazir Tarar has termed recently published reports regarding the eyesight of Imran Khan as “baseless” and issued in haste.

In a statement, the federal law minister said that certain news claims about the former prime minister’s vision were not accurate and lacked context. According to Tarar, the PTI founder himself had stated that approximately 85 per cent of the vision in one eye had been affected.

However, the minister maintained that reports failed to mention that the process of treatment and restoration was also underway. He added that Imran Khan’s vision in one eye was currently measured at 6/6, which he described as “nothing less than a miracle at this age,” while the vision in the other eye stood at 70 per cent.

Tarar criticised what he called the hurried publication of unverified reports, stressing the need for responsible reporting on sensitive health matters involving public figures.

The statement comes amid ongoing political debate and concerns raised by opposition leaders regarding Imran Khan’s medical condition, with calls for transparency and independent medical evaluations.
