POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
The Balochistan government has announced a major escalation in its counterterrorism efforts, deciding to tighten the noose around banned organizations operating abroad and accelerate the issuance of Interpol red notices against their members.
The decision was taken during a high-level security meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. Officials briefed that a detailed list of the leadership, commanders and more than 300 terrorists affiliated with banned outfits has been compiled and will be used to advance international action.
“No Terrorist Will Be Allowed to Hide Anywhere”
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti stated that effective action against every individual involved in terrorism—whether within Balochistan or abroad—has become unavoidable.
“Those who shed blood on the land of Balochistan will not be allowed to hide in any corner of the world,” he said, adding that presenting the true face of terrorist organizations “wearing political garb” to the world was now the provincial government’s duty.
Implementation of New Anti‑Terrorism Laws
CM Bugti instructed authorities to intensify operations under the newly enforced anti-terrorism laws and directed the Home Department to further activate the special cell established under the Balochistan Provincial Action Plan.
He asserted that the province has entered an “inevitable and decisive phase” in the mission to eliminate elements challenging the writ of the state, emphasizing that Balochistan “will no longer fall victim to any foreign agenda.”
Zero‑Tolerance Approach
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the government would maintain a strict zero‑tolerance policy against all enemies of the state and their facilitators, warning that every supporter of terrorism “will be chased down.”
The move marks one of Balochistan’s most extensive international counterterrorism initiatives in recent years, signaling deeper global cooperation to dismantle networks operating outside Pakistan.
