US President Donald Trump Praises Pakistan’s Role in Afghan Conflict, Voices Distrust Over Iran Talks

US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s efforts in the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, stating that the country is “doing a great job” and that he stands with Pakistan.

Speaking to the media outside the White House, President Trump highlighted the performance of Pakistani leadership, specifically commending Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, calling them “great leaders” whom he respects greatly.

When asked whether the US would intervene in the Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict, Trump stated that while he could, he maintains very good relations with Pakistan, signaling continued support for Islamabad’s role.

In the same briefing, President Trump expressed skepticism regarding negotiations with Iran, saying the US is dissatisfied with the outcome so far and asserting that Iran should not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. He added that ongoing talks could yield both positive and negative outcomes if the situation escalates.

Trump also commented on Cuba, describing the nation as facing severe economic difficulties including shortages of money, oil, and food. He suggested that the US might engage with Cuba in a “friendly way” and noted that Senator Rubio is monitoring the situation closely.

The statements reaffirm US support for Pakistan in the Afghan conflict while reflecting Washington’s continued concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Cuba’s economic challenges.
