POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent unprovoked attacks on Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes on Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, the Foreign Office said in a statement.
Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi emphasized that Pakistan regrets the failure of negotiations in the Middle East and the escalation of hostilities, warning that such actions threaten regional peace and stability. “These attacks occurred at a time when diplomatic efforts were underway to reach a peaceful and negotiated solution. Such actions will harm the peace and stability of the region,” he said.
The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with all affected brotherly countries and condemned the killing of a Pakistani citizen in the UAE during the attacks. Pakistan urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint, respect the sovereignty of Gulf states, and adhere to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
The Foreign Office called on all sides to resume diplomacy and seek a negotiated solution to prevent further escalation and safeguard regional security.
