Bangladesh Completes Historic Whitewash Over Pakistan in Test Series

Bangladesh achieved a historic whitewash over Pakistan in the Test series, winning the second Test by four wickets and securing a 2-0 series victory. This marks only the second time in history that Pakistan has been whitewashed at home in a Test series.

 

In the second Test match, played in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh chased down a target of 185 runs with relative ease, scoring 185 runs for the loss of four wickets. The match was shortened due to rain and bad light, which led to an early end on the fourth day, but Bangladesh managed to extend their innings by 42 runs to seal the victory.

 

The first day of the Test was completely washed out by rain, with no toss taking place. On the second day, Pakistan batted first and posted a total of 274 runs. In response, Bangladesh scored 262 runs, falling short by just 12 runs.

 

In their second innings, Pakistan’s batting line-up faltered significantly, and the team was dismissed for just 172 runs. Bangladesh’s performance was commendable, as they chased the target of 185 runs efficiently and with confidence.

 

Earlier, in the first Test held in Pindi, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by ten wickets, showcasing their dominance throughout the series. This series whitewash highlights Bangladesh's remarkable performance and marks a significant milestone in their cricketing history.
