Bilawal: India’s Anti-Pakistan Ideology a Danger to Region

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned that India’s growing anti-Pakistan ideology poses a serious threat not only to Pakistan but also to the Indian people themselves.

In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, Bilawal said that India is “normalizing its hostility toward Pakistan on the global stage,” a shift he described as both dangerous and deliberate.

“India is trying to present an anti-Pakistan narrative as normal international discourse. This new ideology is dangerous for both countries,” Bilawal stated.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s journey through the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) process demonstrates the country’s efforts to combat terrorism.

“We have completed every stage of FATF and received recognition for our anti-terrorism operations,” he said.

Bilawal strongly rejected India’s allegations linking Pakistan to the 2019 terrorist attacks and said India had failed to provide credible evidence, particularly in the case of the Pahalgam attacks.

🔍 Context & Background

·       Pakistan was removed from the FATF grey list in October 2022, after years of reforms targeting terror financing and money laundering.

·       India has often accused Pakistan of harboring militants, particularly after incidents like the Pulwama attack in 2019.

·       Bilawal’s remarks come at a time of renewed regional tension and diplomatic disengagement between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Bilawal also pointed out that Pakistan continues to suffer regular terrorist attacks, highlighting the double standards in global discourse on terrorism.

“Pakistan’s past is not just ours—it reflects the past of this whole region,” Bilawal remarked, calling for a more nuanced and regional approach to counterterrorism and peacebuilding.
