easing a regular flight schedule to Karachi.
According to sources, Biman Airlines’ first direct flight from Dhaka to Karachi will depart on January 29, 2026. Initially, the airline will operate two weekly flights between the two cities.
Seat bookings for the inaugural flight opened recently, and all seats were filled within hours, indicating strong demand.
The restoration of direct flights has been welcomed warmly by people in both countries, who expressed excitement over easier travel and improved bilateral connectivity.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had earlier approved Biman Airlines to operate these direct flights. Last month, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Biman Airlines signed an agreement for cargo transportation, further strengthening cooperation between the two national carriers.
Officials said this step will not only enhance passenger travel but also facilitate trade and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
