Bomb Blast Targets Police Convoy in Dera Ismail Khan; Search Operation Initiated

An explosion rocked Dera Ismail Khan as an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the vehicle of DSP Kalachi and SHO Hathala on Tank Road. The blast resulted in injuries to personnel who were promptly shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

 

According to police reports, unidentified individuals initiated gunfire near a farmhouse on Tank Road following the IED explosion. The attackers quickly fled the scene after the retaliatory fire. The incident resulted in damage to a vehicle and instances of firing in the vicinity.

 

In response to the attack, law enforcement swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a thorough search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. Police revealed that the DSP and accompanying personnel were en route for a search operation when the explosion occurred.

 

The incident underscores the persistent security challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in the region and highlights the need for vigilant measures to combat such acts of violence.
