Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced on Friday that the longstanding canal issue has been resolved amicably, praising the Prime Minister and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for their political acumen and responsiveness to public sentiment.
According to Geo News, the remarks came during a meeting between CM Murad and Punjab Governor Saleem Haider, where both leaders expressed satisfaction and congratulated each other on the peaceful resolution of the dispute.
"The Prime Minister and his team listened to the public’s concerns and addressed the issue with wisdom and political maturity," the Sindh CM said. He added that the role of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was instrumental in ensuring that the matter was settled through dialogue and consensus.
CM Murad emphasized the importance of inter-provincial harmony, saying, "All provinces are playing an important role in maintaining Pakistan’s internal stability. Our unity is our strength—India cannot even think of aggression when the nation stands united."
He also stated that the Sindh government will never compromise on national interests and that collaboration between Sindh and Punjab is vital for Pakistan’s development and stability.
“The cooperation between Sindh and Punjab is not only a symbol of national cohesion but also a guarantee of the country’s progress,” he concluded.
The resolution of the canal issue marks a significant step forward in inter-provincial coordination, setting a positive precedent for resolving sensitive matters through mutual understanding and political dialogue.
