Chemical Report Confirms Poisonous Milk Caused Death of 13 Family Members in Khairpur

A chemical report has confirmed that the tragic deaths of 13 family members in Khairpur, Sindh, on August 19 were caused by consuming poisonous milk. The report from the Chemical Laboratory Sukkur (Rohri), obtained on Friday, revealed the presence of insecticides and narcotics in the bodies of the deceased, leading investigators to conclude that the family had been intentionally poisoned.

The incident took place in the village of Haibat Khan Brohi near Pir Goth, Khairpur. Among the victims were Gul Baig Brohi, his wife, five sons, three daughters, and several other close relatives, according to police and hospital sources. The sudden and mysterious deaths of an entire household have left the local community in shock and grief.

The chemical analysis detected traces of both insecticide and Benzodiazepine, a potent narcotic, in the milk consumed by the victims. The findings confirm initial suspicions that the family had ingested toxic substances, leading to their untimely deaths.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Samiullah Soomro, who is leading the investigation, stated that all aspects of the case are being carefully considered. "This is a highly sensitive case involving the loss of innocent lives, including children. We will ensure that justice is served and those responsible are held accountable," he said. He also mentioned that legal action would be pursued based on the findings of the investigation.

The postmortem results further confirmed the presence of toxic substances and narcotics in the victims' bodies. Authorities are continuing their inquiry to determine whether this was an isolated incident or part of a larger malicious plot. SSP Soomro assured the public that the investigation would be thorough, and if any individual is found to be responsible, they will face strict legal consequences.

The tragedy has deeply affected the entire village, as 13 members of the same family lost their lives under mysterious and devastating circumstances. The community remains in mourning as they await justice for the victims.

This is not the first case of poisoning in recent months. In July, a newlywed bride died after allegedly consuming poisoned food in Peshawar, while the groom was hospitalized in critical condition. Earlier in May, two minor children died after reportedly eating instant noodles in Lahore, sparking concerns about food safety in the country.

As the investigation into the Khairpur incident continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, ensuring that no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of justice for the victims.
