CTD Kills 5 BLA Terrorists in Mastung Operation

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan on Monday killed five terrorists in a successful operation in the Dasht area of Mastung district, officials said. The slain terrorists were reportedly planning to block the Quetta-Sibi highway and carry out attacks on security forces and civilian traffic.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched after secret information indicated that armed members of the banned organization Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were present in the area. Upon receiving the intelligence, CTD teams from Quetta immediately reached the location and began surveillance.

The spokesperson added that the terrorists opened fire on CTD personnel, triggering a fierce gunfight. Five terrorists were killed in the exchange, while some accomplices escaped through the difficult mountainous terrain.

During the operation, CTD recovered five sub-machine guns with ammunition, seven hand grenades, and three motorcycles from the terrorists’ possession. The bodies of the slain terrorists were shifted to a nearby hospital.

A search-and-combing operation is ongoing to capture the escaped terrorists and dismantle the remaining network. Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the CTD police station regarding the incident.

The operation highlights the continued efforts of Balochistan law enforcement agencies to prevent sabotage and ensure security along key transport routes in the province.
