A significant breakthrough has been made in the tragic case of Dr. Akash Ansari, the renowned poet and writer who died of burns in Hyderabad a few days ago.
The investigating officer revealed that Dr. Akash’s son, Latif Akash, who is currently in police custody, has confessed to murdering his father. The son reportedly set fire to the room after committing the crime.
Police officials have confirmed the collection of key evidence linking Latif Akash to the murder. The accused is said to be a drug addict who had a history of demanding money from his father every day.
"We have gathered all the evidence needed to prove the crime. The forensic and post-mortem reports are still pending, and a DNA test of the accused has been conducted," the investigating officer said.
It has also been reported that Dr. Akash’s body was cremated after his death, which raised suspicions at the time of the incident.
This tragic incident follows a year-old case filed by Dr. Akash Ansari, in which he accused his adopted son of fleeing with Rs 3.8 million. Despite the initial estrangement, Dr. Akash and Latif had later reconciled.
The case is now under close scrutiny as police await the final forensic reports to strengthen their case.
