POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued instructions to the Chief Secretary Balochistan to finalize security arrangements for the upcoming local government elections in Quetta.
According to the ECP’s letter, police, Levies, and other law enforcement agencies must provide full support to ensure a peaceful and transparent voting process. Special security measures are to be deployed at sensitive polling stations to prevent any untoward incidents. The finalized security plan must be submitted to the Election Commission promptly.
Sources say the Chief Secretary Balochistan has issued directives to all relevant departments, while the district administration has been instructed to maintain law and order on polling day.
This move comes as authorities aim to strengthen electoral security in Quetta, addressing concerns about potential disruptions and ensuring that local government elections are conducted in a safe and fair environment.
