The Sindh High Court (SHC) heard an emotional petition on Tuesday filed by an elderly man, Ali Gul, seeking the recovery of his four missing daughters. During the hearing, the petitioner shared a harrowing account of his daughters' abduction and his continued struggle for justice.
Ali Gul, visibly distressed, told the court, “My four daughters were kidnapped. I have no information whether they are alive or dead. I just want to know their whereabouts.”
The petitioner revealed that the ordeal began in 2017 when his daughters were first kidnapped. After two years of relentless efforts, they were recovered in 2019. However, the relief was short-lived, as his daughters were abducted again in the same year. Since then, he has been left in the dark about their fate.
Ali Gul further alleged discrepancies in the case of one of his daughters, stating that her father’s name was altered in official records, and she was presented in a Punjab court, where it was claimed she had married. “If she has married, I am happy. But at least show me my daughter. Her statement is not being disclosed, nor is she being produced in court,” he pleaded.
The petitioner expressed frustration with law enforcement, pointing out that the police had not apprehended the accused named in the case. He implored the court for urgent intervention, emphasizing the lack of progress in the investigation.
The SHC, acknowledging the seriousness of the case, issued notices to the relevant parties and adjourned the hearing until December 16, directing further proceedings.
This case highlights the anguish faced by families of missing persons and the urgent need for effective action to address such incidents. The next hearing is anticipated to shed light on the whereabouts of Ali Gul’s daughters.
