Federal Minister Predicts Troubling Times Ahead for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has forecasted a challenging future for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, suggesting that the people of KP will soon turn against him due to his government's failures. During a press conference in Lahore, Tarar emphasized that the world is recognizing Pakistan's improving economic policies and highlighted the positive reception of Prime Minister's speech at the United Nations, even from within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

"The economy is on the mend, and inflation is trending towards single digits," Tarar stated. He asserted that the current government has successfully pulled the economy back from the brink of default. Notably, he referenced the President of the World Bank's positive remarks about Pakistan's economic strategy, while also criticizing the PTI for attempting to hinder the country's development.

According to Tarar, the PTI's recent protests and sit-ins, particularly in the red zone, aim to disrupt governmental functions and promote chaos. "These elements are concerned about their statements in light of the country's progress," he claimed. He vowed that no disruptions would be tolerated during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, insisting that security forces, including Rangers and the army, would maintain order.

Tarar accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of misappropriating public funds to placate their leadership while the rest of the country advances. "Punjab was looted, and now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being exploited," he said, adding that the government's inaction in KP stands in stark contrast to national development efforts.

The minister also asserted that PTI's influence is waning, particularly among overseas Pakistanis who are beginning to recognize the improvements within the country. He pointed out the lack of PTI protests in the United States, suggesting a disconnect between the party's narrative and the experiences of Pakistanis abroad.

Addressing the current unrest, Tarar affirmed that peaceful protests are welcome, but warned that any armed demonstrations would not be permitted. He stressed that Gandapur had breached agreements, leading to increasing discontent among the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As the political landscape remains turbulent, the minister's remarks reflect growing tensions between the government and the opposition, particularly regarding governance and economic policy.
