Two female police officers in Islamabad have been suspended following an incident in which they allegedly tortured a delivery rider in the Blue Area.
The incident occurred when the delivery rider, after receiving an order from the police officers, arrived in the Blue Area but faced a delay in charging his phone at a nearby shop. According to the rider's account, upon his arrival, the officers slapped him in front of bystanders, broke his glasses, and subjected him to physical abuse.
Taking immediate notice of the allegations, the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad suspended the female officers involved and formed a two-member committee to investigate the incident. The IG stated that if the female officers are found guilty, further disciplinary action will be taken against them.
This case has raised serious concerns about police misconduct and has sparked public outrage over the treatment of civilians by law enforcement officers. Authorities have assured that the investigation will be fair and transparent, and justice will be served.
