Financial Times: India-US Rift Hits Indian Billionaires, Trump Turns Closer to Pakistan

According to a report by the British newspaper Financial Times, strained India-US relations are now directly affecting Indian billionaires. The report cites Hindutva-friendly policies and a contradictory foreign strategy as key factors undermining ties between the two countries.

Despite spending millions of dollars on lobbying firms, Indian billionaires, including Gautam Adani, have struggled to establish meaningful trade relations with the United States. The cases against Adani highlight that personal connections and lobbying efforts cannot sway US legal priorities.

The report further states that after facing setbacks in these legal and trade matters, India is no longer seen as a reliable ally by Washington. Communication between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former US President Donald Trump has reportedly been minimal, particularly in the context of ongoing tariff disputes.

Adding to the challenges, the Financial Times notes that Trump has been increasing his proximity to Pakistan, further complicating the geopolitical and economic landscape for India.
