CRIME
Karachi police have arrested five people, including a woman, on charges of robbery in the Defence area, officials said on Monday.
According to police, the incident occurred on December 10 when three suspects forcibly entered a house and ransacked the premises. During the robbery, the accused looted gold jewellery and cash before fleeing the scene.
An FIR registered at Gizri police station stated that the suspects made off with a gold set, four gold bangles, four rings, and a large amount of cash, including Pakistani rupees and dirhams.
Following investigations, police carried out raids and arrested five individuals in connection with the crime. Officials said that the arrested suspects include both men and a woman, and further investigations are underway to recover the looted items and determine the role of each accused.
Police said efforts are ongoing to trace any remaining accomplices and to establish whether the suspects were involved in other similar incidents in the area.
