POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch firmly denied any ongoing talks between the Pakistani government and the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Baloch emphasized that the government has consistently made it clear that engaging in negotiations with the TTP is not an option, as it would undermine the thousands of families who have been affected by the group's violence.
The spokesperson further explained that Pakistan's stance remains strong on national security, reiterating the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
In other updates, Baloch highlighted the successful visit of the President of Belarus, during which several memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and agreements on cooperation across various sectors were signed between Pakistan and Belarus. These agreements are aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and fostering collaboration in fields such as trade, culture, and technology.
Additionally, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is currently visiting Russia at the invitation of the Russian Speaker. During this visit, a memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed, further strengthening Pakistan-Russia relations.
The Foreign Office also reiterated Pakistan's firm stance on the ongoing crisis in Palestine. Baloch condemned the Israeli brutality against Palestinians, calling for immediate international intervention to halt the genocide and hold Israel accountable for its actions. Pakistan continues to advocate for the rights of Palestinians on the global stage, urging the international community to take decisive action to end the violence.
