Four Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in Panjgur: ISPR

Security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the operation was carried out on December 26 following intelligence reports about the presence of Khawarij belonging to the Indian proxy group, Fitna al Khawarij. The state uses the term Fitna al Khawarij for militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The ISPR said that during the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout. “After an intense exchange of fire, four Indian-sponsored Khawarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the killed terrorists, who, according to the ISPR, were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.

Following the encounter, a sanitization operation was launched to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the vicinity. The military reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

The ISPR emphasized that the ongoing campaign aims to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operation, praising their professionalism and bravery.

“We will foil the nefarious designs of terrorists who are enemies of humanity,” the prime minister said, adding that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

In a post shared by the state broadcaster on X, the prime minister reiterated that the government is fully determined to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from Pakistan.

Earlier this month, security forces killed 12 terrorists in another intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kalat district, highlighting the ongoing efforts against militant violence.

Last year, the federal government, in consultation with top civilian and military leadership, launched a comprehensive nationwide counter-militancy drive under the codename “Azm-e-Istehkam” to counter the rising number of attacks on security forces and restore lasting peace across the country.
