Fresh Spell of Rain and Snowfall Expected in Upper Pakistan Starting Tomorrow Evening

Pakistan is set to experience a fresh spell of rain and snowfall starting tomorrow evening, as westerly winds enter the upper parts of the country. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued warnings of rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the northern and central regions, with some areas expected to see snowfall in higher elevations.

The rain will begin from tomorrow evening (Nov 14) and is expected to last through the morning of November 16. Light rain is forecasted for various areas in Punjab, which will help alleviate the smog in the region. Areas like Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Khushab, and Sargodha are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall.

In the northern regions, significant rainfall is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Battagram, and adjoining areas, with snowfall anticipated in the higher mountain ranges. This includes parts of upper Hazara such as Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur. The Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan regions will also experience rain, with snowfall in the mountainous areas.

Additionally, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, along with nearby cities like Attock, Talagang, Chakwal, and Jhelum, will receive rain starting tomorrow. Heavy fog is expected to form in the plains of Punjab, with the rain bringing temporary relief from the ongoing smog.

Balochistan’s southern regions, including Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, and Musakhel, are also likely to see rain, while thunderstorms are predicted to affect parts of south Punjab, including Bhakkar, Layyah, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

This fresh weather system will provide much-needed respite from the heat, but it may also disrupt traffic and daily activities in the affected areas. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and prepare accordingly for the changes in weather conditions.
