POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Funeral prayers were held on Saturday morning for Syed Ashiq Hussain, a brave policeman who was martyred in a sniper attack while on security duty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Kurram tehsil on Friday.
The ceremony took place at the Parachinar District Police Officer’s office, where senior police officials, military leaders, and personnel paid tribute to Hussain's services. His coffin, draped in the national flag, was laid to rest in his native village of Noorki.
Hussain’s sacrifice marks yet another tragic chapter in the ongoing violence in Kurram, where two of his brothers were also martyred in previous terror incidents.
Authorities continue to grapple with attacks on government officials and aid convoys despite a fragile ceasefire agreement earlier this year.
