Hafiz Naeem Urges Equal Education for All, Slams Government’s Negligence in Punjab

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has urged the youth to raise their voices for their constitutional rights, particularly the right to quality education, which he said is being denied to millions of children across Pakistan.

Addressing a gathering of youth in Faisalabad, Hafiz Naeem said that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees free and quality education, yet two crore children remain out of schools, with one crore belonging to Punjab alone.

“A separate education system for the poor and the rich is unjust,” he said. “Education should be equal for all, with one language and one standard across the country.”

Criticism of Maryam Nawaz and the Punjab Government

Hafiz Naeem strongly criticized Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying that “photo shoots and advertisements have been enough; now real steps are needed.”

He questioned what the ruling party — which has been in power for nearly four decades — had actually delivered in the education sector, adding that slogans like “Educated Punjab” remain mere rhetoric without action.

The JI chief also drew attention to the work of Al-Khidmat Foundation, saying that if a non-governmental organization can successfully run education projects, then there’s no excuse for the government’s failure.

Focus on IT and Youth Development

Speaking about Pakistan’s economic potential, Hafiz Naeem stated that the IT sector alone can bring in $3–4 billion in the next two years if properly developed.

He also emphasized the importance of promoting sports including cricket, hockey, and football, saying that empowering the youth through education and sports can make Pakistan’s name shine globally.

Call to Join Lahore Convention

Hafiz Naeem invited young people from across the country to participate in the Youth Convention at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore, scheduled for November 21, 22, and 23.

He said the youth must come forward to play their role in building a prosperous, educated, and self-reliant Pakistan, adding that raising one’s voice peacefully for rights is a constitutional duty and national responsibility.
