Hajj Bookings Under Government Scheme Completed, Says Sardar Yousaf

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has announced that the booking process for Hajj under the government scheme has been successfully completed, while bookings under the private scheme are also nearing completion.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, the minister provided details of the Hajj packages, stating that the 40-day package will cost Rs 1.14 million, while the short package is priced at Rs 1.2 million. He added that pilgrims will need to pay a second installment of Rs 6.5 million as part of the total cost.

Sardar Yousaf also revealed that the government will refund amounts ranging from Rs 12,000 to Rs 110,000 to certain pilgrims through banks. However, he clarified that those who opted for better buildings and additional facilities during Hajj will not be eligible for refunds.

During the press conference, Secretary Religious Affairs Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman noted that the Saudi government has banned terminally ill patients from performing Hajj. He explained that while many elderly or ill pilgrims wish to spend their final days in Mecca or Medina, such individuals are now prohibited from traveling under new Saudi regulations.

The minister assured that all necessary arrangements for Pakistani pilgrims are being finalized to ensure a smooth and comfortable Hajj experience this year.
