Hearing in PTI Founder’s £190 Million Case Postponed to October 2

The ongoing hearing regarding the £190 million reference involving the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, has been postponed to October 2. The decision was made during a session presided over by Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana.

In the latest proceedings, Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Usman Gul, took the opportunity to cross-examine the final witness, Mian Umar Nadeem, who serves as a Deputy Director at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and is the Investigation Officer for the case.

Prosecutor General NAB, Muzaffar Abbasi, expressed his dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the cross-examination, highlighting that this marks the 26th appearance of NAB witnesses in court. He pointed out that, despite numerous court sessions, the defense has yet to complete its cross-examination, which has raised concerns over the efficiency of the proceedings.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 2, during which Usman Gul will continue his cross-examination of the NAB witness. The ongoing case has drawn significant public attention, as it involves high-profile figures within Pakistan's political landscape, further fueling discussions about accountability and the legal processes surrounding prominent politicians.
