The belongings of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan were delivered to Adiala Jail on Saturday ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, sources confirmed.
Eid Preparations for Imran Khan
The items sent for the former prime minister include four new pairs of shoes and a waistcoat to wear on Eid. Sources state that these belongings will be handed over to the jail administration for further processing.
Court Orders Books and Call With Children
A day earlier, the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court issued orders allowing Imran Khan access to books and communication with his children. The court emphasized that Eid is a religious festival, and the PTI founder should be permitted to speak with his children before the occasion.
Jail Authorities' Response
However, Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Malik, claimed that Adiala Jail authorities refused to accept the court’s orders. He stated that jail officials initially took photos of the order, forwarded it to the superintendent, and later returned it. The jail authorities allegedly instructed that the court order be sent via post instead.
The matter remains unresolved as PTI’s legal team seeks enforcement of the court’s directives.
