Tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) escalated once again as the Indian Army opened unprovoked fire in the Poonch Sector of Azad Kashmir on Tuesday. The Indian Army used mortar shells and heavy weapons to target Pakistani areas, prompting a strong response from the Pakistan Army.
Strong Retaliation from Pakistan Army
The Pakistan Army quickly retaliated and silenced the Indian guns, forcing the ceasefire violation to cease. No casualties have been reported from the Pakistani side as a result of the firing, despite the heavy artillery used by India.
Ceasefire Violation and Landmine Detonation
In addition to the unprovoked firing, the Indian Army detonated a landmine in the Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch, further escalating the situation. The Pakistan Army responded promptly to these provocations, ensuring the safety of its civilian population in the affected areas.
The Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army issued a statement confirming the retaliation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its borders and citizens.
Tensions Persist Along LoC
This latest exchange marks another violation of the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan along the LoC, with both sides accusing each other of provoking hostilities.
The situation remains tense, but no further escalations have been reported thus far.
