India's Pahalgam Narrative a Propaganda Drama: Irfan Siddiqui

PML-N central leader and Senator Irfan Siddiqui has termed the recent Pahalgam incident a “well-planned conspiracy” by India, alleging that New Delhi is once again resorting to false flag operations to malign Pakistan at the international level.

Speaking to media in Lahore, the senator said that India’s habit of staging such incidents around high-profile diplomatic visits is not new. “False flag operations have become routine for India to further its propaganda agenda. A similar drama was staged during the US Vice President’s visit to India,” Siddiqui claimed.

He said that the Pahalgam incident, occurring in Indian-occupied Kashmir, is yet another example of fabricated narratives being used to defame Pakistan. “India has long maintained a track record of spreading misinformation and committing acts of terrorism on Pakistani soil, all while portraying itself as a victim,” he said.

Referring to past events, Siddiqui stated that India has often used occupied Kashmir as a stage for such propaganda efforts, and the global community should not fall for its misleading tactics.

On domestic matters, Senator Siddiqui clarified that the ongoing political alliance between PML-N and PPP remains intact despite disagreements on issues such as the controversial canals project. “Our unity is strong and will not be shaken by policy differences,” he asserted.

Speaking about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said their court cases are proceeding lawfully and any allegations of bias are unfounded. “The PTI keeps targeting the judiciary, but the courts are dealing with their cases on merit,” he added.

He also pointed to internal rifts within the PTI, suggesting that the party is facing conflicts over leadership and the distribution of positions. “There’s visible disunity within PTI ranks, and internal disputes are weakening their narrative,” he remarked.
