Iran Warns US, Shows Military Strength in Strait of Hormuz Drills

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that even the world’s strongest army could be defeated and asserting that the US will not succeed in bringing down the Islamic Republic.

“Even the strongest army in the world can be slapped so hard that it cannot get up,” Khamenei said, emphasizing the strength of Iran’s defensive capabilities. He highlighted the existence of weapons capable of neutralizing powerful naval assets, describing such weapons as more dangerous than conventional arms.

The warning comes amid escalating tensions after US President Donald Trump hinted at potential military action against Iran and deployed a naval fleet to the region.

In a related development, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy conducted the second phase of its naval exercise, “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz,” which temporarily suspended maritime traffic in the strategic waterway. The drills included combat and rapid response units demonstrating missile strikes with high precision from high-speed missile boats, coastal areas, and islands along the Gulf.

According to Iranian officials, the exercise was designed to ensure safe maritime traffic while showcasing the capability of the Revolutionary Guards to close the Strait of Hormuz if ordered. Military experts noted that all targets set during the drills were successfully hit, signaling Iran’s readiness to defend its strategic interests in the Gulf.

The exercises and Khamenei’s statements underline Tehran’s message to Washington: any military escalation in the region could provoke significant consequences for US forces and international maritime operations.
