Irfan Siddiqui: No Objection if Imran’s Children Protest Lawfully

Senior PML-N leader and senator Irfan Siddiqui has said that there would be no objection if Imran Khan’s children choose to lead a protest movement, provided it remains within the ambit of the law.

Speaking on Geo News’ morning show Geo Pakistan, Siddiqui said:

“If the founder of PTI wants to bring his children into politics, they must come to Pakistan. If they want to run a movement, they can — but it must be lawful.”

However, Siddiqui emphasized that Imran Khan’s release cannot be achieved through his children or sisters, but depends on his own legal and political decisions.

Responding to speculation about political change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Siddiqui clarified that the government in KP is not changing, and that President Asif Ali Zardari is effectively performing his role as head of state.

“Zardari is a thoughtful leader. He hasn’t created problems for the government. The PPP is our coalition partner — why would we want to disturb the system?” Siddiqui stated.

On inflation and rising sugar prices, Siddiqui said the government has imported sugar to stabilize market rates and is actively working to provide relief to the public.

His comments come amid renewed interest in Imran Khan’s sons Suleman and Kasim, who are reportedly planning to visit Pakistan and support a protest campaign for their father’s release.
