Islamabad High Court Grants Fawad Chaudhry Temporary Permission to Travel Abroad

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry temporary permission to travel abroad. The decision was made by Chief Justice Amir Farooq, who heard Chaudhry's request for permission to leave the country.

During the hearing, the court ordered that Fawad Chaudhry’s name be temporarily removed from the passport control list for two weeks, allowing him to travel abroad from August 10 to 24.

Outside the court, Fawad Chaudhry spoke to the media, expressing his frustration over the ongoing legal challenges he faces. “It has been more than a year and still the bails are running. If you get out in one case, you are arrested in the next. Our prosecution branch has been completely destroyed,” Chaudhry said.

He also criticized the current state of institutional integrity in Pakistan, stating, “The state structure stands on the institutions which are being destroyed. They are behind them to destroy the courts. At this time, there is a need to reduce bitterness and talk.”

Fawad Chaudhry's remarks highlight the continuous legal and political battles he and his party face, emphasizing the need for dialogue and institutional reform in the country.
