Jamaat-i-Islami Announces Nationwide Protests Against US-Israel Strikes on Iran

Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, has announced nationwide protests on Friday against the recent US-Israel attacks on Iran, expressing solidarity with the neighbouring country amid escalating regional tensions.

According to a press release issued by the party’s information secretary, the announcement came after Rehman met Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad. Following the meeting, the JI chief addressed a press conference in which he strongly criticised the United States, Israel, and India, describing them as an “evil trinity.”

During the media interaction, Rehman condemned the US-Israel strikes on Iran and urged both the government and opposition in Pakistan to unequivocally denounce the attacks. He also called for US President Donald Trump to be declared a war criminal, alleging violations of international law.

The JI emir further criticised the US-led “Board of Peace,” stating that the forum was deceptive and demanding that Pakistan withdraw its membership. He questioned the credibility of the platform and urged Islamabad to reassess its participation.

According to the statement, Rehman also conveyed condolences over the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other Iranian leaders in the reported strikes. He offered prayers for the deceased and assured the Iranian envoy that both the people of Pakistan and Jamaat-e-Islami stand firmly with Iran during the current crisis.

Ambassador Moghadam thanked the JI leadership for expressing solidarity and appreciated the party’s efforts to promote Muslim unity during challenging times, the statement added.

In addition, Rehman demanded a transparent investigation into the reported firing on protesters outside the US Consulate in Karachi on Saturday. He urged demonstrators to remain peaceful while encouraging citizens across the country to participate in Friday’s protests in all districts.

The JI chief also voiced concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, calling on Islamabad and Kabul to resolve disputes through dialogue. He emphasised the need to ensure that Afghan soil is not used for terrorism against Pakistan.

The planned demonstrations are expected to take place nationwide as political and religious parties react to the evolving geopolitical situation in the region.
