POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Islamabad: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, while speaking to the media at Parliament House, emphasized that terrorism is a global challenge that requires collective efforts to tackle. He criticized the KP government, stating that its failure to curb terrorism must be investigated.
When asked about Imran Khan’s letter to former US President Donald Trump, the federal minister sarcastically remarked that letter-writing, which was once limited to Pakistan, has now reached the international level. He further stated that the fate of these letters would be no different from previous ones.
Speaking on political reconciliation, Khawaja Asif said that reconciliation is possible only when the other party is not aggressive. He added that if reconciliation is not an option, then political resistance is the only way forward.
Commenting on the rising incidents of terrorism in the country, the Defense Minister accused former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, General Faiz Hameed, and PTI’s founder of resettling terrorists in Pakistan. He noted that while General Faiz Hameed is already under arrest, General Bajwa must be questioned about his role in facilitating the return of these terrorists.
