The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly unanimously passed a resolution declaring former Prime Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto a national martyr.
The resolution, presented by PPP parliamentary leader Ahmed Karim Kundi, paid tribute to Bhutto’s extensive national, political, and democratic contributions. It emphasized that his role in strengthening Pakistan’s democracy and serving the people will always be remembered.
The resolution also formally demanded that Bhutto be officially recognized as a national martyr. Lawmakers across party lines supported the measure, describing it as an important step in acknowledging Bhutto’s legacy at both political and public levels.
According to the resolution, this decision aims not only to revive the memory of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto but also to provide guidance and lessons for future generations. Political analysts have described the move as a significant symbolic gesture that reinforces Bhutto’s historical importance in Pakistan’s political landscape.
